Leelah had her 6 mos. checkup with shots this past Wed.! This time Daddy came along and was shocked at how long the needles were! Mommy never looks b/c she's too busy holding Leelah's hands. Since that visit we have started her on teething biscuits which are too funny to watch. And she's also moved on to meats- chicken- which is AWESOME! But it sure doesn't smell awesome! She's also started to get a tooth bump on the lower left side... Will have more on this when we see it pop out!

Leelah is learning how to sign! We are so excited to start this form of communication with her because we know she is always saying something important- and about 1/8th the time we know what it is- so this should help her and us out a lot! *A funny note* we bought the Baby Signing for Dummies book and didn't even realize til we got home that it was written by the wife of the minister that married us here in Katy!? Jennifer Watson. Her 3 babies know anywhere from 125 signs to 300 signs!! It's so amazing! Right now we are teaching her these signs: Change Ditey (diaper), Eat, Hi, Bye, and Ba-ba (milk). More updates and hopefully pics that will show her doing her little signs!!

This is our very first family picture!! Little Miss Leelah Jo Nichols was born July 21st, 2006 at 11:32 am. After being induced, Mommy went into labor for several hours with the help of two epidurals and one heck of a nurse, my Hubby who held my hand, and my Mom who cheered me on, Leelah made her entrance to the world. With one eye closed and a big sneeze! It was without hyperbole, the absolute best moment, memory, and present of our lives!
